Barron's 2nd Edition PT1 Q50

50) This question asks us to find the power dissipated by R[3], the 1 Ohm resistor. Question 50 is a continuation of question 48 and question 49. In order to find the power dissipated by R[3], there are 3 different formulas we can use.

Where P is Power, V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance

Our answers from questions 48 and 49 tell us that the current(I) is 2 Amperes, and the voltage drop(v) is 2 Volts. Our problem also tells us that the resistance is 1 Ohm, so we can use any of the three equations for power to solve this problem.

Where P is Power, V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance

We can see that no matter which of the 3 equations we use, we come up with the same answer. This can also allow us to confirm that our answers for questions 48 and 49 are correct.
