In the real world, the ideal maximum efficiency is unattainable. Luckily, there is a simple formula to calculate the ideal max efficiency.

This efficiency is also sometimes referred to as Carnot's efficiency. In this equation T(H) is the temperature at which heat enters the engine. Similarly, T(C) is the temperature of the environment where the engine exhausts heat. In this case, T(H) is the heat source, so T(C) is the heat sink. Now we can simply plug in our values and solve for the ideal efficiency.
